Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) may have sent competitors scrambling once again with the launch of the iPad 2. Taiwanese news outlet Digitimes reports that 2 or 3 computer vendors now plan to postpone their tablet PC launches as they redesign products to achieve lower costs.

The new iPad 2, which goes on sale March 11, adds features such as dual cameras, dual core processing and a gyroscope in a slimmer and lighter form, while keeping the price similar to the original iPad, starting at $499.

And the original iPad now drops to $399 for the WiFi 16GB model, which is putting considerable pressure on competitors, said Digitimes.

The iPad’s market share may have been as high as 95 percent in 2010 reports Business Insider.
